I've been enjoying the wisdom and humor here at Sawmill Creek for sometime and decided to post a picture or two. This is a Russian Olive hollow with some 1/8" thick Bocote 'tiles' glued into a recess. Then the gaps were filled with a concoction of ground coffee and white glue, finish turned, and sprayed with lacquer. About 7" diameter by 3.25".

Curt, that looks great. The band really sets it off nicely. Nice work! And...Welcome to the 'Creek!

I've turned a little Russian Olive that I got from a friend in Colorado awhile back. Turned pretty nicely.

VERY interesting. At first, it looked like you inserted a segmented ring in the middle of the piece.

Great lookin' piece.

Sure is pretty, Curt. Welcome.

BTW - My older brother Coly had a good friend named Curt Fuller from New York who dropped off the face of the earth a long long time ago. Could it be?

Thanks to everyone for all the nice comments.

Andy, as to your brother's long lost friend, I'm afraid he's still lost. I've never set foot in New York, although I'd love to someday. I'm a born and raised Utahn living my whole 53 years within a couple miles of where I was born.

Don't be in too much of a hurry, Curt. There are a lot of New Yorkers there:D
