Okay, this might be a bit off topic, but I had to share. I’ve been in the basement this morning working on what will be an outdoor kitchen island. I’m currently working on the mortise and tenons for the skirts to the legs. My 8 year old son called me up to the kitchen because he was trying to make some blackberry yogurt for breakfast and couldn’t open the blackberry jam jar. So I went up to the kitchen and opened it for him.

He remarked, “thanks daddy, otherwise I would have been totally screwed!”

I thought to myself, “I hope he doesn’t understand where the phrase ‘screwed’ comes from.” I just laughed and started heading back to the basement.

As I was walking away he said, “get it? SCREEWWWWED?!?!!”

Uh-oh. This is going to be an awkward conversation…..

And then he said, “SCREWED! Like a screw. Because you are doing woodworking right now. Screwed! HAHAHAHAHA!!”

Kids.
