From the walnut stub left after turning a tool handle. 1 5/8" high. Waterlox finish.

I knew you had found your calling when I saw your first itty bitty piece. This is an outstanding example of a "pocket pot". Very nice indeed!:D

I just love the figure in that wood. I don't know how you turn them so small. You must have much better eyes than I do. Great Job!

I wouldn't think walnut would look that nice when turned that small.
Just a great looking piece.

Yeah Yeah Yeah, it's nice, but.....
I seem to recall that you were timber harvesting last fall at your local landfill (Now there's a mental image!) and came home with some big honking chunks of something. Whatever became of them?
Don't forget - with big bowls you can make a lot of shavings.
Note to the guys: Getting her to put the hat back on was easy, but now we gotta get this Itty Bitty thing outta her head or she'll need a pair of these real soon.

That would be cedar and some maple but I'm afraid if I mount them with this cheesy lathe stand I have they (and the lathe) will end up at the end of the street against the Linton's garage! I am trying to get up the nerve to turn the big chunk of "Thunder Cat" spalted maple that Mike Toupin brought me.

Carole-
That is too cool- the shape, the finish and especially the wood/grain! At first glance I thought it was a gear shift knob :o but knew you were into HFs so had to check it out a little closer! That is outstanding!
