Wood type??

Just looking at the wood grain it reminds of Pacific Maple.
The finish could be the hardest part to figure out.

It does "look like" some kind of maple or other closed grain species that's been dyed and top coated nicely. It's unlikely that anyone can confirm exactly what it is from a photo, unfortunately.

I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that it has been stained. That means you don't really have color to help you identify the wood. However, the positive spin is that you don't really have to identify the species. You just need a stain whose color is like what you see in the photo.
