I love to use a salt seller when I cook. I made this one from Walnut with a Yellow Cedar burl insert in the top. My wife loves it as well.

I made one as well, not as nice as that however. Any tips on getting the hinge and magnet lined up? (blog post?) Beautiful, love the insert.

Dave all I did was drive a tiny finish nail in each position. clipped it off short and then pressed the two pieces together then used a small set of side cutters to pull the shortened nails. Hope this helps!

Sounds way too easy and straight forward. What kind of pivot / hinge did you use?

Bill I use a small dowel and a rare earth magnet.
