Hello everybody

I visit a friend to learn how to make big cylinders with the cross support and new tools

Wood: walnut
Height: 67 cm
Diameter: 24 cm
Wall thickness: 1-3mm

It was sanded up to 400 grit
Bio pin hard wax oil was used for the finish

I hope you like it

Beautiful wood, Roger. Was it turned green? It looks like there was some interesting wood movement.

Very thin walls. Surprised it stayed in one piece for the final turning.

Good job!

I left a comment on the video, but if I had to guess, I would have said California Bay Laurel/Oregon Myrtle wood... He has more toys than I do...

I've never noticed him admitting where he's from, but I'm betting it is Europe. That is, I think an obscure US West Coast wood is unlikely. I wish he'd fill in his profile.

That color spectrum in Walnut is one I have never seen. Wondering if it it Persian/English walnut???

I found his web site. It has the .de ending, and is written in German.
