Well I finally got good enough weather to spray the finish on my future grandson's crib. I sprayed 6 coats of Target Coatings USL waterbase laquer gloss finish, lightly buffed with 0000 steel wool, then applied Briwax clear wax.

Construction photos can be seen in this link: http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?t=27252&highlight=Ryan%27s+Crib

The cabinets shown are some I had built about 2 months ago, please pardon the poor photos, I forgot to take pictures while in the shop and the lighting in the room is horrible.

David, your Grandson will be a very lucky young man! The crib looks awesome and challenging, (it would be for me anyway). The built-ins look great too!

Sorry, that's all I can say as I am speechless. Nice work on the crib. My little guy is out of a crib now otherwise I see a new project!!

Awesome job on the crib, David, and the built-ins are very nice, too. Did you do the crib design yourself, or was it from plans? Either way, it came out great.

Wow, that looks great!

I didn't see the kind of wood in the other thread ... I see some figure in the top rail. What is it made out of?

I recently used Target's USL, and absolutely love it. It sure looks good on the crib!

The crib is made of soft maple, the band in the top rails is walnut.

The plans came from American Furniture Design, with a few minor changes such as the walnut in the top rails. I am working on a design for a cradle that will have the same lines as the crib, I hope to begin work on it this week and will post periodic updates.

I have a laser engraved tag that I inlay into all my projects.

Thanks everyone for the kind words, this was one of those projects that you can really enjoy.
