I have a letterpress trade shop so, in addition to Sawmill Creek, one
of my MOL daily website stops is Briar Press. The link below is to a post
regarding a problem encountered by one of the folks there when an
engraver gave them a cut-a metal plate graphic mounted on plywood,
which was 20 thousandths too high. The device on top in the graphic
has two attachments, one called a knife blade (for taking down the wood)
and a file (for removing material from the actual cut).

Interesting information. One of my shop classes in high school was Print Shop. The room was more of a big closet in the back of a drafting class. There were at most two students and no teacher. One of the students was the teacher. After the first year a student might work alone. It was a hand operated letter press using handset moveable type.
