Good day everybody

current project is an oval coffee top. i have veneered a sunburst pattern on the top, which I
think came out ok for first try. would have been nice to have a vacuum press but
mdf panels and cauls got me through the glue up.
I'm wanting to put a crossbanding border about 1" wide around the perimeter.
so i can use the ellipse jig to follow the oval but wondering how to cut the veneer
pieces to fit around the curve.
how have others done it?? i get the feeling its going to be a piece at a time process.

any ideas appreciated

Regards,
Eric

Since you can only use ellipse "machine " jig to make one ellipse ,and must scribe off that one to get the others, the
easiest way is to cut out a circle with a radius same as desired "band width". Put a pencil in the center hole and roll it
around "mama ellipse"
