You didn't say whether you wanted a free app or not. I use PowerDirector, which I find very easy to use. You have to buy it, although they may have a free trial - don't remember.

The website on-line video cutter works and is virus free. The editing is done on line, so you load up your file onto their web page, then move markers to frame what you are going to keep, then process the edits, and download your new, shortened video and save to your computer hard drive. Free

As mentioned, you might suggest what device and OS you want to use and how much you are willing to pay. That could save a lot of guessing and time. I use different ways to trim and edit videos, depending.
