I am new to drum sanders and I have a new Jet 18-36 drum sander and need to get a set of sand paper rolls to get started with. I will be using the sander for cutting/cheese boards and small picture frames.

My plan was to get 80/150/220 and then cut back to 150 with the palm sander for final hand finish.

Good plan?

I found Kingspor cut-to-fit wraps but I cannot find any pre-cut ones. Does anyone know a good source?

edit: just got a response from woodworkingshop that the cut-to-fit are pre-cut.

edit2: another question is can I cycle through grits of sand paper and then put the 80 back on? I know I will find this out by trying but wanted to know what others think is best practice?

I use 100 grit with my drum sander. That's it. It's not a finishing tool and the chance of burning stock is there even with 100 grit and too much of a bit. Changing out the abrasive is also "not a lot of fun" to get it down perfect and latched.
