So here I am mid project and the brad nailer doesn't want to fire. It just let's out a light spurt of air when you pull the trigger to fire a nail in. Any opinions? I've heard trigger valves are common wear items? I like this nailer it's the older version and not the newer oil free version.

Sounds like the firing seal to me, but I've never been inside a PC, or even had a PC gun in my hands, so they may call it something else.

I would contact Porter Cable. I bet they can help.

I took mine apart and couldn't find anything, but worth a try you might find something.

I had other performance issues to ended up buying a new one. My last PC air nailer died I no longer use that brand.

Might want to check ereplacement parts site. When you search for a model no. they show a list of symptoms and give a breakdown of what part fixed the symptom broken down by % (I assumed as reported by customers). You can get a complete rebuild kit, but for $60 I doubt it'd be worth it. I have that same nailer, and if it dies I'll replace it with one that can handle longer brads.

I went to a great deal of trouble :D, and searched ebay for a Porter Cable BN125 firing seal. $6.12 for the seal, with free shipping. Copy and paste the below in ebay search box:

Have you added a few drops of oil to the air inlet recently? Maybe you should.

Yes always do. There was plenty of oil in that gun when I took it apart

My finishing nailer blew a seal too now the next day. That one leaks all the time.
