Shedua is like wenge in the splinter department and they refuse to come out...silver gripper and all! They seem to get infected right away. I have worked with it many times before...this is the worst though...

I feel for you. But, on my list of awful splinters, I need to add ebony. Sharp as can be so they go deep, they infect in just an instant.

Gimme a splinter anyday over an invisible bit of steel wool. or a tiny bit of steel in the eye. Especially if you don't realize it's in their until the next day, after it's had a chance to rust. Actually, 'happened to LOML once. We now remember it as a good incentive to put on those safety glasses.

Ouch Mark! ....I feel for you

I'll add to the list of nasty splinters with Chechen. It's not prone to splintering like some other woods that have been mentioned but the wood is so crisp when machined that I cut myself on several occasions. I found out after the project that one of it's common names was "poison wood" :(
