Rockwell 13" Planer - knife setting

I'm having a tough time setting the knives on my 13" planer. Bought 3 aftermarket jigs and no-go. Not enough room in the top to lay to jigs on the cutterhead. The fig that came with the planer is weak...and I'm sure it can be improved.
