My powermatic 66 just stopped dead this evening and won't turn back on. I opened up the switch and pushed in the mag connector and it starts. The button behind the green on button doesn't seem to be working. Does this mean I need a whole new switch or is there another way to fix this.
Any advice would be appreciated, I use this saw almost every day

Hard wire the saw for the time being and plug / unplug to turn on/off.

Order a new mag switch. I got mine from Amazon for $60 or so.

Sounds like the on button is not connecting. Maybe tape a thin piece of dry wood on the end of the plunger so it pushes farther in? Not so thick that it does not release the contact block. If the stop switch was open it would still start and run as long as the start switch was being pushed in.

Thanks for the replies lads. I went back out and pulled the switch apart for a second time and put it back together, and now it's running. It must have been a bad connection somewhere, or else I'm a genius and that's doubtful. Thanks again.
