Christmas came early for me yesterday when I got home from work and discovered a long heavy USPS package at my door with Steve Knight's return address on it. The package contained the planes shown below. I have spent the day today turning a piece of reclaimed heart pine floor joist into nice little shavings that now cover my bench. I need to practice setting the irons a little more but they cut almost perfectly right out of the box. These are a Jack and a Smoother both bedded at 50 degrees.
These planes are amazing much nicer than the "new" Stanleys that I have owned before. Steve will definitely be getting some more business from me latter in the year. I will be needing a Jointer to go along with these two for dimensioning, some dado's, and a shoulder plane.
