Did not realize until too late that my stiles and rails are about slightly more than 11/16” and the door panel is 13/16”. Need to put profile on outside edge of door stiles and rails. But as the panel is close to 1/8” proud of stiles and rails when I place door face down on router table it can rock.
Wondering best way to handle. To me I either put shim material under stiles and rails when using router table to mitigate rocking or don’t use table and hand hold router to do profile.
Anyone have thoughts on how best to handle this situation?
Thanks in advance.

I think you've got it ,shims clamps. One thing that might also help is a home made elongated router base to provide a
little more stability.

Attach the shims to the door with double stick tape.

or tape a shim to the table - once.

Clearly, this problem can only be rectified with a new machine or tool of some sort.

run it on a shaper face up. Is you router too small to do that?
