that the time on messages is different from my computer.
I'm curious, which clock does the time stamp on the messages come from?
It does not matter, I'm just curious.

It's a setting within the forum software. You can access it by clicking on Settings at the upper right, going to General Settings, and scrolling down a ways to Date & Time Options

Most computers are able to synch with the NIST > https://www.time.gov
If your computer is synched, it could be SMC's isn't. There might be other factors involved.
My machine is linked.
After sending this message, my machine was two minutes behind the time posted by SMC. SMC may be linked to a different time server.

Yes I have noticed that also, seems the post time is a couple of minutes ahead of my computer time which matches my cell phone.

That is due to clock drift. It's going to be unique to each system, even with NTP synching this is still a reality
