A few weeks ago, I asked about a mobility kit for the Laguna 18-36 lathe. I decided to go with the slightly bigger brother, the 24-36.

Laguna sells a mobility kit for $499. This looks like a good product, but is extends the footprint of the lathe and also does not help with my other issue, somewhere to keep and store tools.

From my old thread, I got a few great suggestions and finally decided to copy a design from Don Bunce https://sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?119919-1642-Balast-amp-Storage&p=2386786#post2386786

I bought 2 sheets of Maple plywood from Home Depot ($120), a set of 4 500lb rated casters from Amazon ($30), a pack of 10 22" Drawer slides ($105) and a pair of 20" 5000lb scissor jacks ($55). I also bought a board of hard Maple for the drawer fronts ($30) and the drawer handles ($50 Home Depot). So I'm into this for around $400, about $330 if you subtract the spare 7 drawer slides.

Here is my result.

Very clever! Thanks for detailed information. Now I have another reason to buy a bigger lathe.
