Here is a little bowl I made from a piece of spalted maple I got off ebay. I liked how it looked thick so I left it that way. The wood was pretty hard and I really had no worrys of it breaking if I had gotten thinner. It is finished with John Harts secret recipe (ex-secret). It works really nice as a friction polish I thought.

Love that spalted Maple! Nice little bowl! Looks like a dandy finish on it.

Thanks for the pictures!

Rich how big was the blank for this bowl? I just bought a couple of black locust blanks. One was 3 x 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 and he threw in a 2 x 5 1/2 x 5 1/2. He gave me them to me for $3. They are clean with no checks. Thanks.
