One of my custom car shop guys came in and was interested in having me laser cut some carpet for custom floor mats. Apparently he has a few people that want them, and he can put the two colors together but can't get an accurate cut by hand. I'm still working on perfecting my settings but by vector cutting with the bottom up (mirror the graphics) and cutting thru the thin rubber and jute it seems to work. This is the letter "L" from their logo, on my test sample. I'm going to have to do a few more samples to get it perfect but so far it seems like it will work.

Nice work Joe! What glue/method do you use to secure the letters? I think I'd like to have a go at some custom mats for my car.

Cheers,

I hadn't seen that thread, though I have also done the engraving on carpet for a doormat, and also logos on polar fleece fabric. In this case
though they want specific colors to match the car interior or team colors as many of the customers are Sonics or Seahawks. As for the glue, I don't really know since I'm only doing the cutting. I put it together just to test the fit. My customer at the custom car shop says he puts a thick glue that won't bleed thru the fabric on the bottom, then before it sets he applies a thin non-skid rubber.
