Woodworker's Journal E-zine has just published a very interesting feature article about the life and philosophy of Roy Underhill. Quite well done and worth the read.

“With a jug of muscatel and an axe,” Roy chuckles, “you, too, can be part of the alcohol-powered woodworking trend. Call it ‘woodworking beyond the Norm.’”

Great quote. ;)

Tis a decent article in the whole as well, so thanks Roger.

That movie he mentioned in the film sounds interesting as well, I will have to watch for it. I loiked the quote I bet he would be a great person to sit down and share a pot of coffee or even a bottle of wine, pity he does not post here.

“I was born in the nadir of 1950,” Roy mused, “just in time for television and Howdy Doody, on the December 22nd winter solstice, the shortest day of the year.

Happy Birthday, Roy
