The location where I am currently running the machine is not at a stable temperature (and air conditioning the place is not economical), whilst not hot it can get pretty warm during summer afternoons and the fans scream during long run cutting jobs. Has anyone done any after market cooling for the laser tube in one of these machines? I'm thinking that attaching a small cooling unit in serial in front of the fans may be one way to do it but would be very interested if anyone had done any kind of water cooling.

If you're humidity isn't extreme, you might give a 'personal swamp cooler' a thought--

It WILL add some humidity to the surrounding air, but the whole reason they work is by evaporating water. Set one up a few feet from the machine's fan intake, shouldn't be a problem.

edit- you will find lots of bad review of these things, any of them. This is because people expect the things to cool entire rooms. No, they're meant to cool people, not rooms. :)
