Got the beast to an Electric Motor Repair Shop.
The old motor is shot. Are there replacement motors
that will bolt on to this old iron? Will get a quote on a rebuild
tomorrow, when i go to pick it up

yes get a picture of the name plate and post it
looking for a frame number, rpm, amps, voltage, on the tag
then we can help you find another motor
Good Luck

My old Foley Belsaw planer used a common Baldor motor with pulleys and belt drive. Nothing special. If yours is the same then as long as the rpm and shaft rotation is the same any motor of the same frame type will work.

What does "shot" mean? Most old motors need new bearings, a good clean up/adjustment and maybe a new starting capacitor. That's commonly called a rebuild. Sometimes the windings melt and now the motor is probably "shot".

If they can rebuild your existing motor you can be sure everything fits and you'll be up and running.

I only replace with a TEFC motor regardless of OEM. Also only sealed bearings not shielded. To much dust to do otherwise.
