Hi all,

I've been looking to see if Photograv has a demo, but they don't seem to. Could someone be so kind and put this photo through for a test. I've heard alot hype on Photograv, but would like to test something before plunging in.

Bill,

There are several things we need to know before we can convert the file.

1) DPI or resolution you will run on your system (they must match)
2) Size of the engraving (8x10) this is important you can not adjust the size once it is photograved.
3) Len's Spot size (0.005, 0.003)
4) Material that is getting engraved (wood, plastic, etc.)

Hi Mike,

I will run at 600Dpi (Epilog Legend 24TT 50Watts)

2) Size of the engraving (8x10) this is important you can not adjust the size once it is photograved.
The photo is already at the size that i will be engraving at (5.31" x 3.63")

3) Len's Spot size (0.005, 0.003)
I'm not sure, i think its 0.003, its a 2" focus len?

4) Material that is getting engraved (wood, plastic, etc.)
Birch (not plywood)

William,

Here you go this was just set-up using your parameters and the wood settings for cherry. Be sure to try it on a scrap pc first. Also remember do not change the size it will screw it up.

Looks like I need to find a copy of PhotoGrav for sure! It looks great.

How about the files for cutting the box? Is that available?

Thank you William!

I think I will look and see if there is a way to search all posts here for attachments! There is a gold mine of files and information laying around the SMC.

You can say that again! This forum is the best i've ever been a member of, everyone's always willing to help out.

It'd be nice if there was a Forum Section just for files to share & contribute to, it be great for those last minute ideas or even for newbies' trying to learn.
