I have read the hitachi manual and I still don't have a clue as to how to set this up. Can anyone help a totally uneducated personin electronics get the unit up and running. I only need it to run and maybe reverse.
Thanks

Some machines do not like reverse. nuts can unscrew etc. Do you need power braking or is coast down better. I have heard minimum is 3 seconds to full stop depending on rotating mass and breakable gearing.

Have you got suitable buttons for the vfd/inverter, do you need a separate NC stop and a NO start button?
You probably need to swap original machine switches out, if those switch contacts are not normally open for start, and normally closed for stop.
If it's a latching or toggle type switch you can probably use it.

Not recommended for most inverters to use the keypad long term, so you might want to buy them now if needed to get them sooner.
Push buttons only cost 3 to 5 quid each.I

What machine is this being installed on?

I suggest you tell us the work you have done already, like changing the configuration to delta 240v.
paste a list with the parameters you think you need.

Beware of a few things...
Not to hit run if all parameters are not set correctly.

These things hold a large charge after unplugging, so you need to wait if needing to swap a pair of the hots from the motor.(you might need to do this if rotation is backwards)

Do not install a plug inbetween motor and vfd.
