Average price of extra wide hard maple??

What is the average board foot price of extra wide Hard Maple? Say, 12 inches or wider?

I've paid as high as 7.75/bd ft for 8/4 S2S and as little as 5.50 for 8/4 rough cut.

how wide and does it have to be hard maple? soft maple is pretty hard to distinguish from soft. What thickness and lenght. what volume of wood ?
