Here are 4 bowls that I made for christmas out of walnut. The two larger are 12" and the smaller are 8". They are finished with oil and buffed.
This is the first time that I have turned a bowl that started as 8/4 lumber. Every other bowl that I have made was a block of wood where I turned a tenon on it. I glued a block onto these so that I could maintain as much depth as possible.

Very cool, a little smaller and they would be great coasters as well! Nice job.

Great wood, for sure - and looks like a great finish on it! I like shallow bowls, myself, and think these look great!
Thanks for the pictures!

Very nice bowls. Nice form and finish. I do 99% of my turning with glue blocks. Thanks for the pixs.
