I have a Vega lathe with inboard and outboard spindles of 1"×8 tpi. I'm considering buying the Nova Titen chuck as I would like to turn 18-24" stuff outboard. The Nova chuck only comes in 1 1/4"x 8 tpi. So any adaptor is going to hang the chuck out a bit. I would install set screws into the adaptor from both the chuck and the adaptor respectively as I plan to also work in reverse. Any reason this is a bad idea?
