Flexible Hoses for Shop Vacs

Now that it is good and cold here in Indiana my shop vac hoses tend to get real stiff before the shop heats up. I am looking for a source for some high quality flexible 1 1/4 and 2 1/2" hoses similar to what you get with vacuum cleaners with respect to flexibility not the typical Borg cheap stiff hoses.

I've noticed that Lee Valley has a 2 1/2" hose has anyone tried it and is it high quality?

Anyone got any other ideas?

Mike I need a vac hose for my H-5 panel saw (gloat) that I bought used recently. the safety speed cut dealer won't sell me one cause he lost a sale I was hemming and hawing about. I did a search and found the following.

The MG-U is a Elastomer urethane wall hose
construction reinforced with a vinyl coated spring
steel wire helix. This is a very abrasion resistant
hose. In 1.25 inch ID it is $2.38 per ft and sold in
50 ft sections.

with a vinyl coated spring steel wire helix. This hose
is a little less abrasion resistant and more flexible.

I guess this qualifies as something else. You'll need to use the end from your current hose. I'll take 20' from ya, help defer the cost some.

I bought a garage hose kit on Ebay, that was for a central vacuum system.
The hose is very flexable, 30 ft long & it included floor wand & other tools. The brand name of the hose was Allegro.

I was just over at my local Woodcraft today. Of course I read your e-mail after I ordered a bunch of stuff from Lee Valley including what looks like an identical hose kit. Anyway, i didn't see these hoses at WC so they probably would have had to order one for me.

Out here the borg sells 2 1/2 " hose as replacement hose for swimming pool cleaning. Pretty inexpensive and a lot more rugged then normal vacuum hose.

Yep, I found it on Lee Valley and 1 other site also - I'm sure you will like it. Woodcraft had free shipping and the add on floor kit I was looking for. I hope standing while I vacuum the floor will save my bad back and knees.
