Roy-
Not sure I can answer your question. I have a Grizzly 8 inch and I think its 30 degrees. You might check with Scott Whiting, I believe he is a member here an runs a sharpening buisiness. Also, I think David Marks reccomends some kind of back bevel to help with tear out.

My grinder is set up for 40°. Some new blades come with a 42° or 40° with a 42° secondary bevel run with a finer grinder to cut down on the machining burr because they can't afford a guy like me to hand hone every knife. Up until the steel got better many of these knives were ground at 45° to wear better. These are all included angles.
The back bevel that Dave mentioned is to reduce tearout in figured woods. It is usually 20°. Very few grinders can be set up for the back bevel and my personal belief is it is hard on the jointer/planer anyway.
