I last reported on my Unisaw rebuild update a couple weeks ago.

Since then I installed the motor, switch and built a fence for it. I built a similar fence 20 years ago for my contractors saw and decided that rather than switch it to my new saw, I'd start with a new one. I have 52" capacity to the right and 26" to the left. Here are some photos of the saw, fence and built in router table.

Nicely done Jack! You can't even tell that the motor cover isn't the same metal that the cabinet is.

Enjoy! It looks like a sweet set-up.

That came out real nice, Jack. Sweet rehab, and I'm envious of all your table space.

Wow. Nice job. That's a really great looking saw. I also would like to hear about the fence construction. And what kind of motor did you buy for it?

I built my tablesaw fence using standard steel and fasteners. The main fence is 3' x 3" x 1 1/2" channel with a 3" x 1 1/2" x 1/4" end cap welded on. The uprights on the end that the cam handle fasten to are 4" x 1 1/2" x 1/2". The angle that is welded under the fence is 12" x 2" x 2". (1/8" spacer between the fence and lower angle to provide clearance) The angle mounted to the saw (front and back) is 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" x 1/4". The 2" box rail guide is fastened to the angle with bolts from the bottom. (thread the holes in the box) The bolts that fasten the angles to your saw have to be flat head and recessed into the angles.
The locking handle is a 1" x 3/4" shaft with an off-center hole. A 4" x 3x8" bolt is welded to it and a lawn tractor shift knob installed. The upper shaft has a peice of 1/16" x 2" x 1" tab welded to it that hangs between the cam and the fence rail.
I had a block of nylon that I cut 1/8" thick glides that are fastened to the underside and fence box side of the 2" angle. I also fastened a 3" x 1" x 1/8" nylon glide under the fence, near the back edge of the table.
I built a wooden fence cover over the channel iron using a glued up piece of plywood 1 1/2" x 3" x 40" with 1/2" x 4" x 42" sides which have plastic laminate on the face.
This is the second fence that I've built and the last one was used for 20 years of everyday use in a cabinet shop and performed flawlessly.

I put a new Baldor 3hp motor in the saw and it purrs like a kitten.
