Rather slim pickings this year.
Home Depot, which usually is pretty heavy on Makita stuff - is a real disappointment this time around in that respect.

I did find a decent deal on Tyler Tool on a Makita compact router kit. $121(including tax), after a $25 discount on orders over $100.
I have the cordless version and was looking to buy a plunge base for it. I figure I can either keep the corded router - or - sell it and just keep the plunge base.
The plunge base alone sells for $89

Harbor freight is selling their LED shop lights for $19-8.99, down from $29.99. These look like single tube 4 foot fluorescent tube lights. I think this is a fairly common sale price from HF. 5000 Lumen, pull chain switch.

Also time for me to say buy some clear LED string christmas lights. String them up to illuminate an attic or crawl space.

Lots of good tool info at this site: https://toolguyd.com/

They've got break downs from Lowes, Home Depot, Menards, Amazon, and some individual deals.

This one stands out to me for wood working: https://toolguyd.com/dewalt-dw735x-planer-black-friday-2019-deal/
The DeWalt 13" thickness planer with infeed/outfeed, and extra set of knives for $500.

Lowes will have Jorgensen F clamps tomorrow. Not sure of price, but I snuck a peek under the tarp yesterday and saw them.

I *think* $20. There is a listing for "4 steel clamps for $20" on the Toolguyd, apparently from the last page of the Lowes circular.

I got the Dewalt DWE7491RS table saw at Lowe's for $499. Home Depot doesn't carry it here in Hawaii and Amazon won't ship it here as well.

I must have gotten a half dozen "Black Friday" emails from various purveyors of tools this morning. There's nothing I actually want or need, but plenty of offers. :)

I missed out on the lathe.

Waffle irons are pretty great though. Try adding some green onions and sesame oil to pancake mix. Serve with some soy sauce and siracha.
Sounds weird, but is a pretty popular Chinese/Korean snack.

Woodcraft has the Rikon 70-1218VS midi lathe at $200 off, for $350. The sale was supposed to have been on in-store stock only, but they let me order one at that price.

I got some Milwaukee M18 batteries today. 9 AH were $129 and the 5 AH were $74.40, including delivery. And those are Canadian dollars. I keep a close eye on those battery prices & that is just a little over half the street price.

Okay Matt, I'm now slobbering all over my keyboard. That sounds delicious!

I’m off to my local Carbatec (woodwork store) where they are promoting some discounts on machines. I’m after a Nova Voyager drill press. It’s been on my list for some time, to replace a Taiwanese model I purchased new about 25 years ago. While the discount is not that great, it is something. I have a birthday in a month, so am being urged on by my wife. Lucky me!

I noticed that Nova have a new model due in a few weeks, the Viking. This is a bench model and considerably cheaper, which would reduce the guilt somewhat. I obsessed over the specs for both models and eventually convinced myself - again with my wife’s support - that the more costly Voyager is the one to get. Life should be this complicated always :)

I bought a couple of the Avanti 10" and 12" saw blades, some bits and drivers, and a laser level. Nothing exciting, but then again neither Lowes nor Home Depot was mobbed, and I was in and out with minimum stress and anxiety.

Where they have exercised economy is going to be the stand, with the head the same, presumably. That's how they seem to have been approaching the issue of "what do we put this on" last year, when I was among the last (happy birthday to me) to get one for the original lower price, and on sale at that. The stand (base, table etc) was the same as the factory stand for a Jet or Grizzly etc, as it turns out.

It was a good morning. I smiled sweetly and managed to get $500 AUD ($340 USD) off the list price, plus a free Nova drill press fence thrown in. It helps having been a customer for 30 years.
