Here is my latest, made from red elm with walnut handles. Another of my own design. I call it dodo bird. The grain patterns are interesting and there is good contrast with the walnut handles. Finished with shellac and wax. What do you think?http://www.sawmillcreek.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=27734&stc=1&d=1134927681

Hey David that is a nice looking box. The red elm is really cool. I do like the design. Keep posting them.

Real nice box, Dave. The dodo bird shape is cool, and I like your wood selection and finish, as well. Keep 'em coming!

David, Those are cool. What are you using to sand them with? I found a spindle sander helps a lot with these and helps you keep your sanity. :p Keep up the nice work; they are fun aren't they.

Thanks for words of encouragement. Alan, the sanding is done with a ROS, a OSS, a detail sander and lots of hand sanding. The biggest problem is with tight inside corners. The detail sander helps there but won't get into really tight spots
