The young members will not know about this.
I ran cross a picture online of a Ford Model A Pickup.
My daddy had a Model A car and I remember it. It was black.
The truck in the picture is yellow. I do not think Ford made any vehicles that were not black.
I went online and found more pictures of colored Model A's. so I must be wrong.

Am I mistaken?

Don't know about model A's, but model T's came in green the first year or two before becoming black. Learned this at Henry Ford Greenfield Village when I took my model T driving lessons. BTW that was a hoot! 12 horsepower and go anywhere capability, no wonder the car put America on wheels.

I believe the quote from Henry Ford on the Model T goes, "You can have any color as long as it's black."
Things changed for the Model A.

Edit: mike above was correct. Model t was black only for a stretch, but offered other colors before and after.

By the way, I'm 38 going on 60. Am I an old dog?

In my mind, your not an old dog until you are 70.
I am 84 and I take my dog for a walk every morning for 3/4 mile.
I had a heart attack 15 years ago and after getting out of the hospital, I read book on fitness walking.
Fourteen years late, I see the cardiologist once a year for follow up.

What I find hard to believe, is that Ford sold almost 15 million Model T's from 1909 to 1927 (18 years) but only 10 million Mustangs from 1964 thru 2018 (54 years)...

... Only... lol

There was likely a lot less competition in the marketplace in the time of Model Ts as compared to competition in the market at the time of the Mustang.

The model A in my garage is two tone tan. Sorry Lowell. They called one of them Copra Drab.

How many other models did ford have back in the Model T era. So you would have to add all the models from the Mustang era to see how many were sold

my fascination is with the sheer numbers-- while there was a lot less competition in the auto industry back then, there was also a lot less population to buy cars in the first place. And Mustangs have always been popular, I believe the first model year sales record still belongs to Mustang?

So Ford sold 50% more T's than Mustangs, in 1/3 the time, with roughly half the available buyers...

We should all be that successful!
