If a guy was to buy a PSI utility chuck would it be a good idea to buy the Jumbo Flat Jaw to go with it? It says it will grip the edge of the bowl to 8 inches. I have a chance to buy one at a pretty decent price but he wants to sell them both. He wants $25 for the Jumbo Flat Jaw. Thanks.

That's a lot cheaper than a vac system. And if you want to do some bowls on that new Delta you will need a way to reverse chuck 'em. So, yes. Go for it. However, I have no experience with the PSI gear; so I'm just talking in general.

I have the jumbo jaws and they work great. I bought two of the PSI utility chucks and have had no problem at all with them. I would say go for it. I was using the jumbo jaws just today to finish up the bottoms on some old bowls that I finished before I had the jaws. Worked great. Takes a few minutes to change the jaws. Two little screws in each one. That's why I got two. So I wouldn't have to take the time to change it all the time.

IIRC, those jaws normally retail for around $100, so that's an incredible deal.
They do work well.
Rich is right. Now that I have one chuck, I want several so I can leave them set up with their own jaws, rather than change them.

Look at PSI web specails and you can buy them utility chucks all day for 49 bucks. Normal is 80. Part number is like 10229? something like that.

Thanks guys I appreciate it. The idea of 2 chucks so you don't have to change all the time sounds good to me. Rich I will look into the web specials for maybe getting a second one.

I bouhgt the the same chack with the jumbo jaw the first time around, and had know problem with it, but I did go back after about a month and buy the second one so I have one the is dedicataded to each. It is very nice to just spin one off and spend the other on. I think it well save the check in the long.
