When I tighten the spindle lock the height is not locking. I've searched the heck out of this online and haven't solved it. If I look inside with a flashlight it appears there is some kind of seat in the bottom that is split (I've think I've heard this referred to as a bullet) and the conical end of the spindle is not seating into this (I hope this make sense). Maybe it's been compressed over time??
The parts diagran doesn't show anything below the level of the Elevation Shaft/Gear and this 'seat' is inside of the shaft. I thought I might have to replace the entire shaft but the part is no longer available (Delta A09527S). I was thinking of maybe just pushing a ball-bearing or something into the bottom of this shaft but wanted to toss this out and see if someone has this problem. I'm guessing this isn't an uncommon problem.
