And I may build two of them. Just because I like them and can do it.

Go ahead on Lowell, just do it because for whatever. Did I just see some plans for a not-laid-back-as far Adriondak chair (easier to get out of) somewhere in a LV flyer that showed up recently?

I will look for it. I'm sure plans can be found on line as well.

There are a few in my yard right now.

Here are a couple of them in the process of being built:

That one was made over 8 years ago.

A wider seat was made a little over 7 years ago:

They were both painted and still surviving in the humid weather of Southwest Washington.

SWMBO liked the one in the LV catalog, so we ordered the plans.

Lee Valley had a set of full size plans for Adirondack chairs many years ago, I built 4 over 19 years ago. The seat is very similar but the arms lower, those high arms look uncomfortable to relax in. White cedar and brass screws last a very long time. Their plans had the option of making two sizes, smaller women find getting out of the small chair far easier.
They have had some serious use and are very comfortable and worthwhile.

I build Adirondacks using Norm Abram's plans, his design is a comfortable chair, I had to make MDF patterns due to continuing requests for this chair pics below, hopefully ...
Also, a chair I've being experimenting with is a design built by Tom McLaughlin, which really fits the body well. I feel this chair sits too low and I'm still massaging the design to fit my needs ...

Yes Don, also made MDF patterns. The Lee Valley plans have a bit more curve in the back rest, a more curved seat at the back with a front wrap over for comfort.
