I just turned these this evening. These are my first Barons from Berea. I really like this kit. One of them is a fountain pen and the others are rollerballs. The wood is MescalBean (Texas Mountain Laurel) and is unbelievably gorgeous! It just seems to glow. Sanded to 12,000 MM with a CA finish followed up with Crystal Coat. What do you think?

Hi Curt,

The pens look great. The wood reminds me of canary wood, very pretty. I too like the Baron pens but have yet to buy any of the kits and give them a try. May have to now, yours look so good.

Very pretty Curtis! I like how you paid attention to the grain lining up. Well done! And that wood ain't too shabby neither! ;)

Those are some beautiful looking pens. Thanks for sharing. You see these and other pens in the catalog but you wonder what they really look like when someone makes one. I like these, great job and nice wood.

Nice wood. Which pen kits did you use? I've been thinking about trying some of theirs. Lars
