Medallion dates this saw to the 1940-47 era.

Will see about a refinish of the Apple wood handle....maybe a rattlecan of lacquer to shine it up a bit.

Someone had taken very good care of this saw....still fairly sharp. Still has all of it's teeth.

Plating is worn down quite a bit....brass is showing through....hmmmm...

After you rejuvenate the saw, we would like to see it.

a new curly maple handle and brass saw nuts would be nice.
These are the ones I have used.

I think I'll keep the handle Apple, and just refresh the lacquer finish with new...

Bolts were plated....not sure IF I'll replate them, or wire wheel the plating off...

May have located a place to sharpen the 11 ppi cross cut teeth....

Once I get the current project done...I can try the rehab of the saw..

Good thing you found that saw because I know how badly you needed a new saw :-)

Pictures when you are finished please!

Saw just got back home from the Sharpening Service.....sharp as can be, and has brand new set...$10. Dropped off a saw set that I don't have need for ( but he might) and the Atkins No. 65 saw.

Bench is a bit full right now, but...too tired to do a lot of hand plane work....re-finish a saw's handle doesn't take much effort...may clear a spot after supper, and what I can do...

Stay tuned

419083
11 ppi cuts smooth....
419084
Saw bolts were removed, and shined up...
419085
Plate has been polished up....has a full etch that I can read...
419086
Handle has been stripped of the old finish, sanded smooth, and 3-4 coats of wipe on Amber shellac...
419087
Slots have been clocked...
419088
Saw is from the 1940s, before 1947....
$1 for the saw, plus $10 to have them tiny teeth set and sharpened....not too bad?
