I found these two pictures somewhere on the Internet a long time ago, just thought I would share them in case some of you have never seen this technique.

That's interesting, I'm not sure I would ever see what's going on if I picked it up at a tag sale. It reminds me of a local
family that used to do silouetts. They used a "camera obscura" made by the Dad. Hadn't thought of that stuff for a long
time.

Our kindergarten teacher would do our silhouettes. Too bad I didn't still have it. I could have turned myself!

I did that for my grandson 10 years ago after seeing a post on the creek. Then a friend used a laser to cut out a flat pattern which gained more popularity.

Nice!
I've made several of these, not full size but miniature. I start with a photograph, make a profile in photoshop, then cut out a template to work from.

Interesting that they work both positive and negative.
