First NE I've done so far that the bark has stayed on... of course I used quite a bit of CA on it to help that happen (Jim/Travis - shaddup ;) ). The CA turned some of the bark kinda white, but I was able to clean it up and it doesn't look bad at all IMO.

This is sanded thru 600, has one coat of gel poly wiped on/off (thanks Joe T!), and is buffed with no compound.

Any suggestions/critiques appreciated...

5-1/4" wide, 3-1/2" tall, 7/16" thick

Mark, the only thing I see wrong is it is missing your signature:D . It is a great piece, like the form.

Mark - First saw this just a few minutes after you posted it and have been staring at it ever since trying to find something wrong with it. It's now time to admit failure and go into the house to have lunch. Probably cold by now.

Pretty work, Mark. I have not successfully turned a NE so I have an appreciation for one that is well done and this one is. Good job!:D

Mark,

I really like your bowl and am working on some cherry bowls myself right now. Can you tell us how you do the bottoms of your bowls? I really like the way you do them.

Thanks all!

Chris, this type of bottom I've been doing is because (a) I like it, (b) most folks commenting seem to like it okay, but most importantly (c) because my wife likes it...:D

I put it on there using mostly a small detail spindle gouge and a parting tool. I don't guess I can explain it very well because I haven't really thought about it that much...

I'm sure there's a better/easier way to do it, so some of you folks who know help us out here...:D :D :D

Thanks,
Mark
