Hello,
I have been lurking on SMC for a couple of months now absorbing lots of information. I am a beginner woodworker and would like to learn how to build furniture and possibly later get into wood turning.
I set up a shop in a 2-car garage - actually I can only use half of it since my wife likes to park in it during the cold months. So far I have purchased the following equipment:
Craftsman 22124 TS, HF bandsaw, HF DC, Ridgid jointer, Delta planer, Delta drill press, Ridgid belt/spindle sander, Bosch 1617EVSK kit, Hitachi M12v router (mounted in NYW router table). I have been slowly buying clamps and jumped on the recent Bessey sale.
I have only built a router table, bandsaw table (http://a6.cpimg.com/image/A4/91/53136036-c00c-02000180-.jpg), and a mantel clock. I just started on my first piece of furniture - a demilune table (http://www.diynet.com/diy/ww_tables/article/0,2049,DIY_14446_2275127,00.html) featured on DIY Network. I am sure I'll be asking many questions since there will be lots of firsts for me.

Welcome to the "Creek" Alex. Looks like you're jumping in with both feet. Nice bandsaw table. If anyone hasn't told you, this is the best site around. Also, you did yourself a favor by posting pictures right off the bat. We like pictures.

Let me add my welcome to the rest, Alex. Since you've already lurked a bit, you likely already know all the great things this site has to offer. I like your bandsaw table, and it sounds like you're off to a good start in the tool department. Looking forward to seeing some project pics down the road.

Welcome to the Creek, Alex. Congrats on the tool selection. Coming out of the gate with a table like that is ambitious to say the least. As we all love pictures, I can't wait to see it.

Alex,
WELCOME TO THE CREEK!! :) This is a very rare group of friends and you can actually trust MOST of the Moderators. ;)

Regardless of the level of expertise that you expect to achieve in woodworking, you will be very hard pressed to ask a question that cannot be answered by one or more of your "friends"!

Again, Alex, WELCOME! :D

Welcome to Saw Mill Creek Alex. That looks like a good bandsaw table and the project that you are about to undertake looks to be challenging -I hope that you enjoy it.

I like to remind new users that we have a great archive of old threads here on SMC and an OK search facilty.

Hey Frank,
You are right, as usual, but I think that Alex is looking for something more recent than the discovery of electricity and the invention of the wheel. ;) :)

I'm just kidding! :) Alex, the archives that Frank mentioned are a great treasure of information for just about any woodworking question that you may have. :D If the archives don't work, ask Frank! :) Don't ask me!! I was "archived" MANY years ago! :o ;) :D
