Anybody else having problems with the new Amazon website? I found it much harder to navigate to the section and then the product I was searching for. I'm no expert, but I think many people will just give up and purchases could very well decline.

No problems for me with the new layout. I doubt Amazon is in any danger of losing sales with the format change. :)

I doubt many people will give up.

Many people are used to the mobile site, and the desktop site looks very similar to a mobile layout.

I had to go back to look to see if I could figure out what might have changed. The search window is still top center, where I think it has always been. That's pretty much the only thing I've ever used on their top page. Everything else on that page seems to just be ads for stuff I don't want/need, so I won't bother scrolling down again.

I didn't notice that it had changed. My memory is that they used to change it on a fairly regular basis so the way it is now is not strange - just another change.

Took a look after I read Dennis's post, and realized that I almost never see Amazon's home page. I almost always wind up on Amazon as the result of a Google search or by following a link from a product review article - so I just arrive on the page for a particular product. Although I spend a fair amount of money on Amazon, I guess I don't really "shop" there like I do at a brick and mortar store, or even the way I might shop on HD's web site.

I didn't notice any real changes, either...and I'm on there nearly daily.

I dislike the changes..but will not change my buying.

No real change that I've noticed.

The search algorithms are still broken, failing in unpredictable and annoying ways.

I didn't notice any changes to the Amazon website and I have used it heavily both on Chrome and on my phone that past few days. I just looked at it now and the only thing that might be different is the main page. The product listings the same.

I believe that Amazon's search is intentionally bad to expose you to other options besides what you actually searched for. If you search for say Moen faucets they will show others to entice you to buy another brand. They also sell sponsored spots so similar items from other brands show up when you do a search.
