I am designing a baby cradle and figured I should determine how it will be attached to the posts before I get too far. I am trying to find the brass hanging hardware that are on a lot of the commercial mfg. cradles, anyone have a source? I may end up developing my own method for swinging the cradle but thought I would look at what is available.

Thanks in advance,

David,
I made a cradle many a year ago when our first was born. He is now 29 with two of his own. I used a stair rail support that I turned upside down. I have attached a couple of pictures. I am sure there are many items on the market now and this is just what worked for me at the time.

Good luck with the cradle design.

David, I built a cradle not to long ago and used sealed ball bearings and 1/2" steel dowel to swing mine. I inset the bearings into the post and the "swing arms" of the cradle. I bored the ends of the steel dowel to epoxy a threaded insert and attached knobs to each side. It works great. Dont forget to design a locking mechanism.
