I am making a few of these and this is my first with sliding lid. I did the inlay with maple and poplar into the bubinga cover and the eastern red cedar box. Double bevel inlay method using my scroll saw.

Well done, Jim. I've always liked slide top boxes and that form is also good for wall hanging candle boxes.

How did you attach the sides together? Are they just butted up and glued or are they rabbet jointed? Hard to tell from the picture

I just cut the corners at 45 degrees and glue together. Top and bottom are simply butt joints, just glued.
