I found an article about 8 years ago on aligning a long bed jointer using an old machinist trick called a three point method. I made the required three boards and the procedure worked well. Now I need to align another jointer, I have the boards I made but I cant find the instructions on how to do the three point method. Does anyone know what I am talking about and point me to the article? Thanks.

Chris ,the article you are talking about is by John White in the book from Taunton press called " Care and Repair of shop machines". He used to be the the manager of Fine Woodworking's shop.

The 3 point method of leveling the jointer bed is in an article by John White in the May/June issue 142 of FineWoodworking starting on page 38.
