I have a Powermatic TS80 SAC shaper.

Where can I purchase or find a 1-1/4” spindle for it?

Thanks in advance...

You are very likely going to have a tough time finding that spindle. I think SAC are no longer made. Best bet may be to talk to a machine shop about making a spindle for you. Or keep watching that auction site. The machine shop route may be quicker, good luck.

I'm right in the middle of having a batch of spindles made for a different machine, and the price is $220 CAN apiece for a batch of 8 in 4140HT. A one-off might run $300+ range, just to give you a ballpark. This is CNC with no cylindrical grinding.

Would a Grizzly spindle fit in your shaper? You could always call Grizzly and ask.

Could a Grizzly spindle be modified in a machine shop to fit?

There have been problems and injuries because guys who did not know spindle change proper procedure ,did it anyway.
So I doubt you would find an interested shop. But I'm pretty sure they could do it.
