Greetings,
The good news is that the LOML and I got the bathroom remodel done...except......for 4 pieces of crown molding and the final few touchups of paint on the 4 pieces of crown. Our #2 son made it home from England last night and we picked him up from the Little Rock airport at 23:30 hours last night. It was truly good to see him again and it's super nice having him home once more. This week, I get to try and get caught up on a few woodworking projects and I'm trying to figure out ways to raise money to fund my next large tool purchase, a CNC Router for my shop. I'm still in the research mode but I'm also seeing what all I'll require in a machine and software. But I'm also trying to get a head start on making things for people and collecting that money to add to my tool purchase savings. I know what I want in a machine, but that will require about $35K in funds to get the CNC I really feel that I need to put in my shop. I'm still figuring things out for what I want to do when I retire.
I come off of oncall duty in just over 12 hours from now and I'll be a free man once again and then I can get the crown molding finished and get my woodworking projects caught up.

That's it for me, so what did YOU do this past week?

Best of weeks to you all.

You did a bang-up job on that bathroom based on the photos I saw, Dennis!!! Congrats on a great project result!

No woodworking for me in the past week or this week. I moved my mother from her independent living apartment to her new assisted living suite room across the driveway and have been working on cleaning out the apartment. 50 lbs of paper with PII that had to be shredded; 16 large trash bags of trash, 25 boxes plus about a dozen pieces of furniture to a charity and one leather recliner plus about 15 boxes going in a UHaul trailer back north. Thankfully a close friend and her daughter came to help for a few days...and I rewarded them ( especially my 12yo friend) with a day at Universal. I have all my "crossables" crossed that the charity truck will actually show up tomorrow so I can leave early Thursday for home. I'll have been gone for two weeks. Cross yours, too, please... ;)

Jim, on your trip north, do you do the "inland route?" I-95 to I-26 to I-77 to I-81, instead of 95 all the way. From Boston to Orlando, it's 17 miles farther than straight down 95 all the way. No tolls, and with the exception of Columbia and Charlotte no major cities.

Most of the time, it's I-95 all the way, more or less, Bruce. My mom's community is about an hour off I-95 here in Florida and my house is about 15miles from I-95 up north. I have taken the other route, however, and I'm considering it for the trip north because if I leave tomorrow morning as planned, I'm going to hit DC on a Friday night at a "bad time". Sometimes, if I'm feeling leisurely, I'll hit the Chesapeake Bay Bridge/Tunnel and burrow through DE, avoiding DC, but even that ultimately ends up with me on I-95. I don't want to do that route this time because I'm pulling a small UHaul trailer.
