fastest way to mix resin

I have been mixing resins by hand, usually with a random 1/2" x 1/2" x 12" piece or something close to this that is sitting around the shop. I am mixing roughly 1k ml at a time - not a ton, but I do it repetitively, so the time adds up...

I would really like to find a faster method to mix the materials. Using anything related to a power drill would save time on mixing but would add time to clean up.

Can anyone give any tips?

Go to a specialist paint store and they have spiral paint mixers you can use in a cordless drill or a power drill, just don't go too fast.

For a batch that small your probably going to have to make something. I cant see a purchased paint mixer being small enough for something less then a 1/2 gallon. Aluminum rod at the big box store is not expensive buy a 3 foot piece and shape it to fit the container you mix in. You may still need to go in with a stir stick to scrape the sides and bottom.

You could look at overhead stirrers used in laboratory work. There are models available for high viscosity fluids. Magnetic stirrers can't handle high viscosity fluids. Might be too expensive, but the bonus is you can do something else while the stirrer does the work.... Or maybe you could rig something up along those lines.

I wish I could tell you I've done this, but my methods have been same as yours. What about taking a cheap mixer and modify beaters to hold tongue depressors. Throw away tongue depressors when done. Some 1" PVC pipe and a bit of time and glue would at least experiment with concept. Mixer from Goodwill. Seems like mixer would have good torque at low speed, but I'm no expert there.
